Port Huron and Salt Lake City played a hard-fought contest.

The Port Huron Blitzkrieg topped the Salt Lake City Buzz, 3-1, in M3L Triple A action at Spirits Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Port Huron pitcher and Sylvania, Ohio, native Todd Montgomery. Montgomery, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk.

Port Huron took a 2-0 lead on Maikel de Braber's 11th home run of the season. The solo home run, which de Braber hit in the top of the seventh, left Salt Lake City pitcher José Cantú shaking his head.

"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Jay Smith.

Port Huron is now 39-48. Salt Lake City is 47-40.
