Ogres Get One-Run Win at Lake Minnetonka
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Heron Field, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2052 USSL Double A season. On the mound was Seung-gwan Kim for the visiting Olympia Ogres and Edgar Pérez for the hometown Lake Minnetonka Love Boats. In a spirited contest, the Ogres pulled out the win, defeating the Love Boats by the score of 5-4. Especially impressive was Mike Manley. Juan Romero picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Edgar Pérez was tagged with the loss.
Matt Fightmaster drew 1 walk for Olympia. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Edgar Pérez. It was his 1st walk of the season.
"This team is on a mission," said Fightmaster, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
