Fighting Dachshunds Deal Lynx 4-3 Loss
|
Ellenburg pitcher Jong-yun Chong did his part in helping his team beat the Calgary Lynx, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Ikaaka Iokia converted his 5th save in 8 tries. Ellenburg, now 31-56, holds down last place in the Menard's AAA.
Runs were hard to come by in this one. Jeff McDonald's at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth, therefore, was critical. The Ellenburg shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 3-2.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Calgary manager Steve Duncan, "let me know."
