Hot Chickens Take Down Rocks, 5-4
|
Hot Chickens fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
The Nashville Hot Chickens wiggled past the Plymouth Rocks, 5-4, at Hot Chickens Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of Nashville pitcher Rhys Tregelles. Nashville reliever Alejandro Colón picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Tony Figueroa shouldered the loss.
The Hot Chickens relied on center fielder Jason Melton for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
Tregelles told the Nashville Gazette: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
The 8th-place Hot Chickens raised their record to 41-44.
