Hot Chickens Drop Thunderbirds, 3-0
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Nashville Hot Chickens and the Hamilton Thunderbirds, Dylan Kempink was the difference-maker. The Nashville right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Nashville reliever Josh Pérez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Darwin Donovan shouldered the loss. Alejandro Colón earned the save, his 20th, for the Hot Chickens.
Markus Anderson hit a run-scoring triple off Darwin Donovan in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Hot Chickens in front, 1-0. Anderson had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"We didn't score," said losing manager León Domínguez. "That was the problem."
The 8th-place Hot Chickens improved to 31-33.
