Baton Rouge Gets 7-4 Win
|
Hialeah shortstop Jon Melanson had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Melanson was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Baton Rouge beat the Dodos, 7-4. Melis Ooyendijk was credited with the save for Baton Rouge, his 3rd of the season. The Dodos fall to 7-11 and continue their lackluster start in 2052.
Baton Rouge used the timely hitting of Gökhan Özdemir to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Brass on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Baton Rouge manager Daniel Edwards.
