Hot Chickens Fall to Lake Monsters, 4-3
Vermont picked up a win at Hot Chickens Park, bumping off the Nashville Hot Chickens, 4-3. Pitcher Steve Hale was a major reason the Lake Monsters emerged victorious. Hale got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. Hale allowed 1 run. Getting the save was Troy Charles Jr., his 2nd.

Vermont used a well-timed hit by Clarence Hogan to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"No time for flexing," said Hogan. "It's always one game at a time."

The Hot Chickens, now 26-30, have lost 4 in a row.
