Lake Monsters Upend Hot Chickens, 4-2
|
Vermont and Nashville duked it out and the Lake Monsters came out victorious.
The Vermont Lake Monsters picked up a win at Hot Chickens Park, taking down the Nashville Hot Chickens, 4-2. Starting pitcher Danny Dillard was a big reason why. Vermont raised its record to 29-26 with the win.
Vermont used a well-timed hit by Jack Lazarus to capture the win. The center fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Lazarus told the Vermont News.
