Baton Rouge and Hialeah got after it at Dodos Ballpark.

The Baton Rouge Brass got a stellar performance from pitcher Kane Hallworth, who handcuffed the Hialeah offense en route to a win, 7-1, at Dodos Ballpark. Hallworth picked up the win for Baton Rouge, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.

Baton Rouge used a well-timed hit by Paulino Gómez to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Brass ahead, 5-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Baton Rouge manager Daniel Edwards.

The win brings the Brass to 4-12, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
