Syracuse left-hander Jake Mitchell helped his team edge Sunset District by the score of 3-2. Mitchell kept the opposing lineup in check. With the loss, Sunset District sinks to 6-9.

In the top of the first, Mark Thomas ambushed a 1-2 splitter from Kevin Rietmulder and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Syracuse a quick 2-0 lead.
