The Sunset District Fog trumped the Syracuse Starks, 11-7, at Fog Park. Sunset District right fielder Reynaldo Velásquez was terrific. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs. Frank Courtney, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held the Starks to 5 runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The win gives Sunset District a record of 6-7.

The Fog got an important contribution from designated hitter Guan-cai Khoo, who in the bottom of the fifth punched a 1-1 cutter into right for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Fog ahead, 7-4.

"I felt good up there," said Velásquez. "I saw the ball well."
