Rocks Snatch Late Win
|
Port Huron wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Yuan Thian, falling to the Plymouth Rocks, 5-2. Thian threw 8.1 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Tony Figueroa earned the save for Plymouth, his 9th. The win makes Plymouth 20-10.
Plymouth used the timely hitting of Juan Jose Brisuela to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rocks on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Plymouth skipper Harris Harden.
