San Mateo Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
In a tight game between the Pittsburgh Kingfishers and the San Mateo Dirty Reds, pitcher Wes Johnston was terrific on the mound. The Pittsburgh left-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. Johnston, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The Kingfishers improve their record to 14-17 with the win over San Mateo.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jorge Napolez? The Pittsburgh first baseman had a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put the Kingfishers on top, 2-0. For the game, Napolez had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
