Lake Monsters Suffer 7-6 Setback
|
The Jersey City Tritons turned back the Vermont Lake Monsters, 7-6, at Monster Field. Lawrence Walker, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Peter Bradley picked up the save, his 2nd. Jersey City has a record of 8-10.
Jersey City used the timely hitting of Stephen Ledesma to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tritons on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Walker told the Jersey City Herald.
