The Port Royal Disaster beat the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 9-6, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Horace Ellis went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The 22-year old center fielder was a menace to Hamilton all day. Juriaan van der Kieft got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. Pierre Delecto recorded his 1st save for Port Royal.

Ángel Torrez took Sixto Reyes deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 3-run home run put the Disaster on top, 9-6. In all, Torrez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ellis told the Port Royal Times.

Port Royal, now 6-10, is off to a slow start.
