Monsters Get Past Baton Rouge for 4-3 Win
|
The Monongahela Monsters topped the Baton Rouge Brass, 4-3, in USPL Triple A action at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Monongahela pitcher and Bluefields, Nicaragua, native Andrés García. Cahya Nitisastro, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. The loss drops the Brass to 1-4.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Monongahela center fielder Patrick Beck, facing Young-jae Chong, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Monsters the 4-3 win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," García said.
