The Calgary Lynx and Salt Lake City Buzz were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Salt Lake City Buzz topped the Calgary Lynx, 9-6, with designated hitter Tony Parra playing a big role. Parra was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Buzz in the win. Salt Lake City reliever Manny Guerra picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Patrick Davis absorbed the loss.

Braxton Cottongame broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the fourth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Buzz in front, 6-5. For the game, Cottongame went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jay Smith.

The Buzz, now 10-3, have been on fire in the early going.
