Buzz Topple Tritons with Late Rally
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz had to overcome a big game from Jersey City left fielder Víctor Salazar to leave Jersey City Grounds with a victory. And they did, winning 6-5. Salazar was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The win belongs to Iwan Vroom in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Nathan Sims took the loss for Jersey City. Martín Cedeño earned the save, his 3rd, for the Buzz.
Mariano Cabral's at-bat in the top of the eighth was significant for the Buzz. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Salt Lake City trailing 5-4, the Buzz second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Cabral, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
The win takes Salt Lake City to 4-2.
