Hialeah beat Baton Rouge on the strength of starter Yin-reng Fong's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Grant Gremel earned save number 2 this season. The win gives the Dodos a record of 2-0.
Jon Melanson went 1-1 with 3 walks and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs for Hialeah. In the top of the third, with the teams deadlocked, 0-0, Melanson delivered for the Dodos. His run-scoring walk put Hialeah on top, 1-0.
