Baltimore got a first-rate effort from pitcher Gilbert Owen, who frustrated Pittsburgh hitters en route to a 1-0 Bullets triumph at Baltimore Grounds. The 5th-place Bullets now have a win-loss record of 13-13.
In the bottom of the first, António Macías delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Baltimore first baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Bullets in front, 1-0.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Macías. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
