Streaking Hurricanes Win Another One, 6-3
|
The Cape Coral Hurricanes downed the Las Vegas Flamingos, 6-3. The hitting star was designated hitter Kane Blackwood. Blackwood was 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 3 times for the Hurricanes. Cape Coral pitcher Gordon Benjamin got the win, upping his record to 2-4. Troy Dalton got the loss. The 9th-place Flamingos have dropped 5 straight games.
Qing-nian Zhai dealt the Flamingos a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Cape Coral leading 2-0, Zhai, who is tied for 3rd in the SL with a .883 OPS, hit a 3-1 knuckleball for a 2-run triple.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Blackwood told the Cape Coral Herald.
