The Panama City Piranhas got a stellar performance from pitcher Vicente Molina, who handcuffed the Long Island offense en route to a win, 3-2, at The Tank. Molina, now 9-7, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The first-place Piranhas, at 66-30, now lead their division by 3½ games.
Jesús Bonilla, who is tied for 3rd in the SL in extra base hits with 46, chipped in for Panama City with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
"This was a good win for us," said Bonilla. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
