Pandas Top Echo Park, 2-1
|
Jay Newton never let the Lakers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Pandas to a win, 2-1. Montana pitcher Jeffery Meyers got the win, upping his record to 5-3. Alan Sanderson got the loss. With the win, the Pandas have a record of 62-33.
Ron Pollard was the walk-off hero for Montana. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pandas center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The house was rockin'," said Pollard.
