The Panama City Piranhas topped the Long Island Lighthouse, 11-0, in United States Silver League action at The Tank. The standout performance belonged to Panama City pitcher and Niles, Illinois, native Guy Riggs. Panama City goes to 65-29. The win puts them 4½ games up in their division.
Riggs subdued the Long Island offense. The Panama City right-hander allowed a mere 3 hits over 8.1 innings, while fanning 9. His season record goes to 12-1 with the win.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Riggs told the Panama City Chronicle.
