SMSL Best Manager, Mathews of the MSL Oakland Oaks Sunday, September 17th , 2051 The MSL Oakland Oaks called a press conference to announce that field manager Milton Mathews had been named USSL Mexican Summer League Manager of the Year earlier in the day. Staffers congratulated the 41-year-old baseball guru as he approached the podium. "This city has allowed me to craft a winning ball club," said Mathews. "When you take on a new job, there's always some adjustment period, but everyone here has been cooperative. From the bat boys on up. Here's to many more successful seasons for the MSL Oakland Oaks!" Mathews led MSL Oakland to a 32-17 record this year and a first place finish in the SL MSL. |
