Irate McLeod Suspended 4 Games Wednesday, August 2nd , 2051 Greg McLeod of the Northwest Territory Beavers has been reprimanded and given a 4-game suspension for a shouting match with the plate umpire during a recent game at Beaver Town with the Tijuana Toros. The Beavers left fielder said he didn't touch the umpire, but the umpire insisted he did. "I didn't see it, I didn't feel it," McLeod said. "I was trying everything I could not to make contact with him. The league always sides with umpires. There is no use to appeal." McLeod is hitting .161 this year with no home runs, 7 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 25 hits in 155 at-bats, 14 walks and a .231 on-base percentage. McLeod has played in 58 games. |
