August's Pitcher of the Month Goes to van den Akker Friday, September 1st , 2051 The USSL Low A named the winner of the Pitcher of the Month Award. It went to Chaim van den Akker of North Ft. Myers Gators, who impressed the voters with a glittering 4-1 record in August. The North Ft. Myers star hurler made 5 starts, allowed 21 hits in 31.1 innings, struck out 38 and had a 1.72 ERA. Thus far this season, van den Akker has worked 65 innings with 76 strikeouts en route to a 6-2 record and a 2.49 ERA. |
