Fuller Goes 5-for-5
Sunday, July 2nd , 2051
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Mark Fuller today -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Blues Field, but the performance lost a little luster when the Blues were downed 7-5 by the St. Petersburg Thunder.
After his glittering performance, the Barton Springs center fielder told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat."
His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
"I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too," Fuller said.
Mark Fuller hit a two-run home run off Nicolas Cernin in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
To date Fuller has chalked up a .295 average with 7 home runs, driven in 18 runs and scored 18 times.
