Season May Be Over for Javelina Meredith
Wednesday, August 9th , 2051
The doctors have spoken and Elwood Meredith of the Arizona Javelina didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Meredith sustained his season-ending injury during the Ottawa Nationals game yesterday at Nationals Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Arizona medical staff reported Meredith had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13-14 months.
This year his season stats show Meredith has no saves in 13 relief appearances with a 3-2 record and 3.86 ERA.
