Leal Raps Arizona for 5 Hits
Wednesday, July 5th , 2051
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Felipe Leal, it came around today.
The 24-year-old catcher scattered hits all over The Igloo to pace the Billings Polar Bears to a 17-3 victory over the Arizona Javelina.
Arizona skipper Vincent Hall told reporters in the press room that "Leal deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Leal hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Felipe Leal hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a three-run double in the 4th, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
A look at his season totals shows Leal with 1 home run, .226 BA, .255 OBP, 22 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
