Valdéz Parks 3 HR in the Seats Thursday, August 17th , 2051 Fans are still buzzing after Austin whipped the Sunset District Fog by the score of 12-6 today at Mamba Park. Leonardo Valdéz smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the second baseman bashed out 4 hits in 4 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Valdéz said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Valdéz said. "Three is just... wow." Leonardo Valdéz was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Thomas Rivers in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Marvin McDermott in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Marvin McDermott in the 8th. So far on the season Valdéz is hitting .208 with 11 home runs, 32 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 47 hits and played in 73 games. |
