Shoemaker Brilliant -- Fires No-Hitter Thursday, August 3rd , 2051 Vermont is abuzz in the wake of a masterful no-hitter by Andrew Shoemaker. The 26-year-old hurler was dominating against the Florida Men, leading the Lake Monsters to a 11-0 win at Monster Field today. "I could tell early on that it was going to be a long day for us," Florida manager Carlos Pérez said afterward. "He made us look real bad. He was that good. And still going strong at the end of the game." Shoemaker had 10 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks en route to the no-hitter. "Yeah, this was a special day for me," Shoemaker said. "I had my good stuff and good movement. Good location, too. Even when I made a mistake, I got away with it today." So far this season Shoemaker has 3 wins and 6 losses and a 5.45 ERA.
