McIntyre, on Top of His Game, Beats Hartford, 5-0
Wednesday, June 7th , 2051
It wasn't easy but the Hamilton Thunderbirds made it look that way.
Starter Dan McIntyre shut out the Hartford Pride despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Hamilton Thunderbirds cruised to victory, 5-0. McIntyre allowed only 4 hits and rang up 7 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
This year McIntyre has recorded a 4-1 mark. In 6 starts he has fanned 37 batters in 48 innings with a 2.44 ERA.
