August's Best Rookie in a Class by Himself Friday, September 1st , 2051 Rich Baker is living a dream. Not only did he net the Menard's Third League's Rookie of the Month Award today, but the 23-year-old has put together a string of starts that has everybody talking all the league. In the month of August the Long Island starter was 3-0 as he put up a 1.44 ERA. He also totaled 23 strikeouts in 31.1 innings, while holding opponents to a .236 average. Pretty good stats for a rookie. Baker has made 5 starts this season, posting 3 wins and no losses. Opposing clubs are batting .252 against him and he has 30 strikeouts in 37.1 innings with a 2.41 ERA. |
