3L Player of the Week Goes to Ortíz of Vancouver Monday, August 7th , 2051 Xavier Ortíz demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Menard's Third League Player of the Week Award. The Vancouver shortstop wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .636 average (7-for-11) with 1 home run and 5 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. This year Ortíz is hitting .277, produced 16 RBIs and 2 home runs, scored 14 times and gotten on base at a .317 rate. |
