Cabañas Bashes 5 Base Hits Friday, September 15th , 2051 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Claudio Cabañas today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Boeing Dome and paced the Rocketeers to a 8-7 win over the Las Vegas Flamingos. After his dynamite batting performance, the Seattle third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 14 tries and put his name in the record book. Claudio Cabañas grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 10th, flied out in the 12th, singled in the 14th, grounded out in the 16th, struck out in the 18th, singled in the 20th, flied out in the 22nd, flied out in the 23rd, struck out in the 26th and hit an RBI single in the 28th.
