Mangos Hitless Against Tucker
Wednesday, August 2nd , 2051
In a dominant outing, Henry Tucker of the Columbia River Rats totally silenced the bats of the Kingston Mangos, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the River Rats' 5-0 victory, Tucker faced only 28 batters, surrendered no hits, had 11 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Columbia manager Kevin McCoy said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Scott Riggs had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The River Rats had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Tucker pitched a heck of a ballgame."
This season Tucker has a 8-4 record with a 2.33 ERA.
