SA Pitcher of the Month Goes to Velthuizen Tuesday, August 1st , 2051 Last month's cream of the crop on the mound was Yan Velthuizen of the Yucca Valley Yellows. He captured the USSL Single A Pitcher of the Month award for his outstanding performance in July. Velthuizen started 4 games, threw 29 innings, yielded 11 hits and logged a 4-0 record. He put down 30 batters on strikes, walked 5 and compiled a 0.31 ERA. Opposing teams batted .117 against him. In 13 starts this season Velthuizen has crafted a 7-4 record with a 1.90 ERA. |
