Expos End Alejo's Streak
Monday, July 17th , 2051
It was a doubly miserable day today for Ricardo Alejo of the Caldwell Chiefs, as he saw his 21-game hitting streak end and his team lose 9-2 to the Niagara Falls Expos at Waterfall Park. The 21-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Expos.
"Anyone on a 21-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Niagara Falls manager Mackenzie Bolen said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
Thus far this year Alejo is hitting .324 with 8 home runs, 39 RBIs and 39 runs scored.
