Hitting Streak Still Alive for Alejo Friday, July 14th , 2051 The Caldwell Chiefs fell to the Mancelona Torch in Pipers Ballpark today, even as 21-year-old center fielder Ricardo Alejo upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Alejo finished with 1 hit in 5 at-bats, but could not stop the Chiefs from dropping the 6-5 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Alejo. Ricardo Alejo grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. Currently Alejo is batting .323 with 7 home runs and 37 RBIs. |
