Obke Veenman Captures PL Gold Bat
Friday, November 3rd , 2051
At the age of 25, Obke Veenman of the New Orleans Voodoo could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2051 was good enough to win the left fielder the United States Premier League Gold Bat.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .329 batting average this year, as well as a .373 on-base percentage. He played 108 games and racked up 155 hits, 36 doubles, 13 triples, 20 home runs, 66 RBIs and 89 runs scored.
Seung-jae Kyong of the Mississippi Mockingbirds finished second in voting, while Dan Wells of the Greenville 84s finished third.
