Nova Scotia Beats Northern Virginia, 4-2
|
Nova Scotia Leviathan starter Joshua Dobson turned in a top-notch performance against the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Atlantica. The result was a win for the Leviathan, 4-2. Nicolaas Eland earned the save, his 12th, for the Leviathan. With the win, the Leviathan improved to 37-48.
Nova Scotia relied on the bat of Gareth Kvernoey to get the win. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Leviathan ahead, 2-0. For the game, Kvernoey had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
Northern Virginia manager David Lister said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
