Lakers Trip Rainbow Mermaids, 2-1, in Extra Innings
|
In a tight game between the Echo Park Lakers and the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, pitcher Bungay Osiman was terrific on the mound. The Echo Park right-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. Echo Park reliever Artie Bates picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Nathan May took the loss. The last-place Rainbow Mermaids have lost 4 straight games.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 3rd and one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Ger Jobse hit a run-scoring single. The Lakers went on to win.
"I know we have our doubters," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
