The Milton Dogfish Head slipped past the Norfolk Pajaritos by the score of 9-8 today at Milton Corner Tavern in the first game of the SL AAA Championship. Milton had to overcome a strong effort from Norfolk right fielder Paul Green, who was 4-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice in the loss. With a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series, the Dogfish Head will have two chances to close out the Pajaritos.

Todd McCooke took Eddy Boyd deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Dogfish Head on top, 5-4. In all, McCooke had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said McCooke.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Milton Corner Tavern in Milton.
