Raucous Ballpark of Baxter Crowd Propels Centennial to 7-1 Victory; Series Tied at 1
|
Behind a bravura effort from starter Lloyd Best, the Fort Knox Centennial topped the Hudsonville Flanderses by the score of 7-1 today and got their first win in the 2051 PL R Championchip. Best threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the Centennial. The win moves Fort Knox into a 1-1 tie with Hudsonville.
Gonzalo Zarauza, the Fort Knox third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 2-1, Centennial. For the game, Zarauza was 1-3 with a walk.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Zarauza.
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Hudsonville Park in Hudsonville.
