5 Straight Wins for Oaks
|
MSL Panama City got a terrific performance from pitcher Yoshi Suzuki, but it wasn't enough to beat the MSL Oakland Oaks. MSL Oakland won the MSL Panama City Ballpark contest, 3-1. Suzuki threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Reliever Jesús Árias picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Alfredo Núñez took the loss. The Oaks have now won 5 straight.
MSL Oakland used the timely hitting of Kang Meng to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Oaks ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Meng.
