Lakers Stumble, Lose to Cattlemen

The Ft. Worth Cattlemen downed the Echo Park Lakers, 8-3, at The Cattle Pen. The Cattlemen were led by Leland Sigurdson. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. Jeff McFarland got the win, improving to 7-3. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Ft. Worth, at 38-33, occupies 5th place in the Silver League.
Early in the game, third baseman Tetsu Matsumoto had a 3-run home run for Ft. Worth. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Cattlemen on top, 5-3.
