Oaks Take Down Rainbow Mermaids, 2-1
The MSL Oakland Oaks had to overcome a good performance from MSL Northern Virginia pitcher Lucas Lancaster to claim a 2-1 win at MSL Oakland Ballpark. Lancaster went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Rafael Balahadia picked up the win in relief for MSL Oakland, while Lucas Lancaster took the loss. José López earned the save, his 8th, for the Oaks.

In the bottom of the sixth, MSL Oakland pinch hitter Cisco Díaz put his team on top. With two out and a runner on 1st, he hit his 1st home run of the year. MSL Northern Virginia pitcher Lucas Lancaster served it up. Just like that, the Oaks were ahead, 2-1.

Díaz attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

MSL Oakland, at 31-17, holds down first place in the SL MSL.
