MSL Las Vegas starter Akihito Okubo pitched well against the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Okubo got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. Okubo allowed 1 run. The Flamingos, at 24-21, sit in 5th place in the SL MSL.

With runs few and far between, the Flamingos had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for MSL Las Vegas came in the top of the first inning, when catcher Víctor Montellano delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Phil Chamings and made the score 3-0, Flamingos. Montellano went 1-5, while adding 2 RBI.
