Rocketeers Stay Hot, Beat Rainbow Mermaids, 2-0
|
Seattle Rocketeers starter Virgil Dickerson was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 2-0. Dickerson, now 6-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing no runs. This win makes it 5 in a row for Seattle.
Seattle relied on the hitting of Alexander Karshev to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Rocketeers on top, 1-0. For the game, Karshev had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Karshev told the Seattle Citizen.
